ABOUT THE SHARPIE
Rich history and infectious culture – the class for everyone
The Australian Sharpie Sailing Association is the governing body for Lightweight Sharpie sailing in Australia – a class with a rich history and renowned for its competitive racing and infectious off-water social culture.
With the ability to race in pretty much any breeze from 0-30 knots, the Sharpie provides extremely close and competitive racing where hard work is rewarded. The hull shape has not changed since the 60s and only minor adjustments to the rules have been made – a timeless class.
No matter how old your Sharpie is, provided it is sailed and maintained well, you can still compete at the top end of the fleet. Take a look at the ‘Boats’ section of our website to see the new and second-hand options available to you.
